Agreement Letter Elsevier

UC remains committed to its goal of entering into an agreement providing for the open access publication of articles written by UC and restores UC`s access to the content of Elsevier magazines at a reasonable cost. Negotiations will begin at the end of the summer. Elsevier`s offering is far from meeting Norwegian requirements for open access to research papers. There is also no movement in the transition from the agreement from payment for reading to payment for open publications. The agreement with Elsevier will therefore not be renewed for 2019. The rectorates of the universities of Bergen, Oslo, Tromsø and Trondheim support this decision. Although no agreement was reached this year on reading new papers, Norwegian researchers can continue to publish in Elsevier journals, as is currently the case. According to the archival law of each institution, researchers still have access to the reading of articles published in many magazines until 2018 inclusive. For many years, we have been working closely with library directors in negotiations. .
